The Taranaki Historic Speedway Association was formed in 2002 with the aim of recording the history and preserving the vehicles and records of speedway racing in the province of  Taranaki in New Zealand.

The foundation committee was called together by Laurie Callender and included former speedway driver/riders Dave Gifford, Max Rutherford, Maurice Sattler, Russell Miscall, Wayne Paul and a more recent competitors Graeme Sutton and Ted Roberts.   Of the above, all but Graeme and Ted were competitors or involved with the Waiwakaiho Speedway, which was the first fully active speedway in this province and one of the first in New Zealand.

Our newsletter Pit Notes is issued around 11 times a year and is a mixture of the following.

To become a member, receive the newsletter, be able to participate in speedway fun runs with your vehicles, (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO OWN A VEHICLE !!) and join in the chat and memories at our monthly meetings you can print the membership form and post it along with the small fee to our secretary as shown on the form.
